SPEC: Song Lyric Ads

24-hour challenge: create print ads using only song lyrics (no other copy), a logo, and any photo. It does not need to fit into the company's current advertising theme.

"Wish You Where Here" - Pink Floyd

---

 ---

"The Music of the Night" - Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice (The Phantom of the Opera)

---

"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" - Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons

 ---

"Tainted Love" - Soft Cell

---

"Time" - Pink Floyd

---

What a great opportunity to work with some of the best copywriters in history! Having a special place in my heart, Pink Floyd got (only) two spots (I really had to restrain myself). The rest are lines from a few of my favourite classic songs. I had to limit myself to one night, since I could go on indefinitely, given the brilliance and eloquence of any great songwriter.

Got any other combination ideas?

  2. Yeah I did! I had a blast listening to my favourite songs all night and picked the best lines to pair with brands. A lot of the lines are so great, you could use them for anything! Would be a fun exercise for our brands class, eh?

  3. Here's a question: what song has been the most used song in tv advertising history?

  5. My guess (and it's just a guess) that it is something seasonable like "It's the most Wonderful Time of the Year" which is a heart warmer suitable for a wide range of categories from retail to restaurants. Another idea is "Let it Snow" which could be used for anything warm (soup, hot chocolate) to car tires.
